Air-conditioning Humidity Regulation and Lighting in Cleanrooms
The system or method employed to control or lower the room temperature and its humidity level, and in some exceptional cases, the purity of the air within a given space or specified area such as the interior of an office premises, a cinema or stage play theatre, certain laboratories where temperature regulation is a must, or simply in the house, which is specifically capable of cooling, is called an air-conditioning device or air-conditioner. This lowering of temperature can be accomplished by the method of the vapour-compression cycle, which involves the forced circulation and state change of a refrigerant between gas and liquid to attain the transference of heat. The vapour-compression cycle can take place within a properly packed chiller, which is essentially connected to a cooling section similar to a fan coil unit on the evaporator side and heat elimination apparatus such as a cooling tower on the condenser side.
The air conditioner reduces the entire humidity
of the air processed by the system, thereby acting as a humidity control system
as well. Air conditioners are mostly used in regions where the temperatures are
above normal and the internal temperatures have to be brought down to a level
where living can be made comfortable. Likewise, air-conditioning systems find
places in medical houses like hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and other
medical emergency locations like infectious disease treatment rooms. Infection
prevention, or the infectious disease treatment and control room, is a critical
location within the hospital that is related to the prevention of
healthcare-associated infections. In today's medical and healthcare world,
infection prevention and control have extended from just healthcare into an
essential component of public health, which is commonly referred to as
"Infection Protection". Infection control and Infectious
Diseases Treatment Rooms are analogous to
public health practice, despite being an essential and critical section or part
of the health care infrastructure.
Although infectious diseases treatment rooms
play a vital role in controlling the spread of certain diseases, there are
factors that are related to the spread of infections inside healthcare
locations, mainly among patients, between patient’s staff, and also among
healthcare staff. In order to thoroughly control such instances along with the Infectious
Diseases Treatment Rooms, meticulous monitoring, managing suspected outbreaks,
equally strong surveillance, and investigating the cause and spread of
infection must be carried out along with disinfecting and sterilizing
the locations. Another important and critical aspect is the lighting in the
sterile room or lab. There are several types of lighting that can be setup in
the cleanroom or a similar location.
As a matter of relevance, since a cleanroom must
not contain any sort of material that may cause contamination in the room,
special, industry-tested lighting is needed in these locations. Cleanroom
lighting must be efficient, practical, and supplement the cleanroom's
functions. Lighting in cleanrooms must be accessible so that lights and the
allied systems above the lights can be overhauled and replaced easily, averting
any possible chance of disruption of the room and its functions. The most
common and generally used type of lighting is Cleanroom
Teardrop Lighting. With a number of
companies that offer cleanroom equipment and offer the best services ad
maintenance it is hard to decide. In this respect, The Utopia Group of
Companies with its humble beginning in 1980, Utopia-Aire Pte Ltd has been one
among the best in providing internal environmental pollution control devices,
micro-contamination and organic contamination protection and control devices,
and setting up of cleanroom and the pertaining equipment in and around
Singapore.
